I have just viewed an encouraging and uplifting video from Wayne Jones produced by the World Video Bible School. Their description of the video is as follows…
What is your greatest fear? If you had been asked this question in months past, it may have been completely different than today during such a time of crisis. In this lesson, Wayne Jones presents a biblical perspective for understanding “Why?” and “How?” the Christian is told to “fear not.” Join in this timely study to help evaluate your fears and to recognize how God has provided help for us.
Did Jesus endorse a “blind faith”—one based on feelings rather than facts? If so, then why did He rebuke His apostles for not believing in His resurrection before they had actually seen Him resurrected? And why did Jesus tell Thomas, “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed”? What kind of “faith” was Jesus advocating?
I’ve just viewed a YouTube Video from the 2018 Power Lectures of the Southaven Church of Christ in Southaven, MS. The speaker was Cliff Goodwin. Cliff taught from Scripture that you and I CAN BE, but ought not to be used by Satan by: (1) Resisting God’s Pattern; (2) Refusing Forgiveness; and (3) Retaining Overconfidence. I would highly recommend this study to you. Please take the time to view it. It lasts 45:32 minutes.
Wade Webster is an outstanding preacher of God’s word. He recently preached on the subject of: “Powerless Prayers,” at the 39th Annual West Kentucky Bible Lectures, July 13, 2018. We were edified by his presentation and hope you will take the time to view this video which lasts 28:48.
This week’s Monday video is not one I have viewed, but it is one I heard in person at the West Kentucky Lectures. The 39th West Kentucky Lectures took place at the Sunny Slope church in Paducah this past weekend. The theme this year was: PRAYER. Those lectures I was privileged to hear were outstanding and I am sure each one of them was the same.
Cliff Goodwin, on Saturday morning, presented a lecture entitled: Prayer–Will It Save Me? I have often heard Cliff preach and am always edified when I do. I appreciate this particular message and would ask you please to view it in its entirety.
I enjoy watching videos on YouTube, especially at home on a large screen. Lots of different kinds (some even about lawnmowing). I love to watch videos in Bible-related fields. I watched a beautiful one today from WVBS. I think I will try to be placing some of these videos I view on our site on Mondays. If it is on here it is something I have already viewed and thought worth others taking a look at. Today let me recommend Don Blackwell’s presentation of: THE APOCRYPHA AND THE LOST BOOKS OF THE BIBLE.
Have you ever wondered why we have the books we do in our Bibles? Are there “lost books” that should be in the Bible? What about the Apocrypha found in Catholic Bibles? Join Don Blackwell as he looks at the background and context for recognizing the canon of inspired books in the Bible. Understanding these questions can provide confidence for your faith.
Larry Acuff teaches us from Hebrews 13.1-8 how to love life.
I found an interesting presentation by my friend, Larry Acuff, from a link on Twitter. It is absolutely true that you can find GOOD things on Twitter if you are careful! This was posted by Truth for the World. Larry fills his presentation with Scripture. In this short lesson he directs our attention to Hebrews 13.1-8 and gives to us suggestions from that text on how to love life: (1) Love one another; (2) Respect marriage; (3) Learn to be content; (4) Imitate those who lead us; (5) Trust in Jesus. I think if you will watch this short video it will help you to love life!
On our previous site we had a link to a wonderful sermon preached by Glenn Colley at the 2013 Polishing the Pulpit gathering. We are including it here, on our new site, as well. Please consider carefully this powerful and VITAL message:
